New Delhi, January 14: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the Appropriation (No. 5) Act, 2021, which authorizes the government to spend an additional Rs 3.73 lakh crore during the current financial year. The Appropriation Act authorizes the payment and placement of certain amounts from the Consolidated Fund of India for services for the financial year 2021-22. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Planning (No. 5) Bill 2021 in the winter session. Parliament has now been approved by the President.
A Gazette notification issued on Friday states, “The Appropriation (No. 5) Act, 2021 has received the approval of the President on 12 January 2022 and has been published for general information.” It also said, “To meet the various expenses incurred during the payment, a payment of Rs. Can. ”
