More than 80 fact-finding organizations have written a letter to YouTube accusing it of providing false information on its platform. In a letter to CEO Susan Wojciech, the organizations say the Google-owned video platform is “one of the world’s leading sources of online misinformation and misinformation.” Organizations say YouTube’s efforts to address the problem are proving insufficient. The letter states that YouTube is allowing its platform to be exploited and exploited by unscrupulous people. Fact-finding agencies say the problem is particularly prevalent in non-English-speaking countries.According to the news agency, all the investigators are members of an international fact-finding network. These include Rappler from the Philippines, Africa Czech, Science Feedback from France and dozens of other groups. All of them criticized YouTube, saying that it discusses whether to delete the content or not.

Fact Checkers wrote that displaying fact-finding information is more effective than removing content. Investigators have also called on YouTube to take action against repeat offenders and to step up efforts against misinformation in languages ​​other than English.

In a statement, YouTube spokeswoman Elena Hernandez said the company has invested heavily in all countries where people create content. He described the fact-finding as an important tool. Also said this is a small piece of a larger puzzle.

In the case of India, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting last month ordered the blocking of 20 YouTube channels and two websites for spreading anti-India propaganda and fake news. Two orders have been issued by the ministry. In one of them, YouTube was instructed to block 20 channels and the rest to block websites. Content was posted on these YouTube channels on issues like farmers’ protest, citizenship (amendment) law. At the same time, they were trying to incite minorities against the central government.
