New Delhi, 13 January India has achieved a historic milestone today. The indigenous anti-coronavirus vaccine covacin is now recognized worldwide as a vaccine for adults and children. Covacin maker Bharat Biotech said in a statement on Thursday that covacin has now become a global vaccine for adults and children.
Our goal of developing a global vaccine against COVID-19 has been achieved and all product development for licensing has been completed. According to the latest figures, covacin has been used in 12 per cent of vaccines in India since January 2021. In addition, covacin is the only vaccine given to children aged 15-18. It may be recalled that the Government of India had on January 3 announced to vaccinate 15-18 year old children.
