New Delhi, Nov 25 (PTI) The Union government has tried to woo the farmers by withdrawing all the three agriculture bills but it does not seem that farmer leader Rakesh Tikait is ready to talk about it. After the Agriculture Bill, now Indian Farmers Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that he would go to the voters of Uttar Pradesh to defeat the BJP.

Rakesh Tikait, leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union, said that the government should settle the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops as soon as possible. Arriving in Hyderabad, Rakesh Tikait said that MSP would help the farmers. He hoped that the Union government would soon make suggestions on the issue. He then said that he would go to the UP voters before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections to defeat the BJP. He said that he would also go to the voters of UP with the slogan ‘Defeat BJP’.

He said that along with the Agriculture Bill, the MSP has also been an issue of the United Kisan Morcha. “We have raised the issue of MSP in every meeting with the government,” he said. “We will not back down,” he said. He asked the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible. At the same time he said that we will raise slogans against BJP in UP elections and go to the voters of UP with the slogan of BJP Harao. “We will try our best to face the BJP’s boycott in the villages and not allow them to go for electioneering,” he said. “Our strike will not end for now,” he said. Farmers will continue to fast at Ghazipur border.
