New Delhi, 14 January The number of daily corona virus patients in the country has now crossed 2 lakh, which is of concern to governments and health departments. Although the variant Omicron responsible for the third wave of corona virus is considered less lethal, the growing number of cases continue to cause problems. Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health has issued new home isolation rules for Kovid-19 infected patients. Home isolation will now be eliminated after 7 days of positive test without fever for 3 consecutive days after which there will be no need for re-testing.

In addition, people who no longer have symptoms of the corona virus will no longer need to undergo the Covid-19 test. Amid rising cases of corona virus in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday issued new guidelines on home isolation for mild patients with covidosis. It states that corona patients who have clinically mild or severe symptoms will need to remain in home isolation. The ministry further said that patients above 60 years of age and patients with comorbidities would be allowed to be isolated at home only after proper medical examination.

A new wave of covid infections is emerging in India, and many experts attribute this to the omicron variant. Although the third wave of corona has not been as deadly, the number of hospital admissions and deaths is lower than the second wave. According to a report released by the Union Ministry of Health on Friday (January 14), 2,64,202 new cases of corona virus have been reported in the last 24 hours. At least 315 people have been killed. In the last 24 hours, 1,09,345 people in the country have recovered from Kovid-19. The total number of active cases is 12,72,073.
